Alex Ross Superman airbrushed on metal 12"x18". This is a photo of the piece since it is to big to scan. Sorry for the crappy photo. The paint looks much better in person. I have been unable to take a good photo of my airbrush work because of the glossy surface. Any photo advise welcome.

you wanted photo advice: here it is: my own way was to make a polarizing filter adaptor to my digital (pocket) camera (because i cannot afford a digital SLR) and to ALSO put a plastic polarizing filter on a (500 watt) light (the plastic is from an old laptop computer screen). this was after i banged my head against the wall, with online reading on the subject. in use, you can only turn on the light for a few seconds, as it would melt the plastic filter. therefore, i have ALSO made a footswitch (out of wood and metal scraps). you need to ROTATE the camera filter, until it cancels the polarized light from the light, or it won't work, leaving the glare in. it is hard to set up, you should limit other light on the work, but at 500w, that isn't too hard. you could buy all of this stuff, with a digital SLR, if you have the cash, and a decent store. i recommend that you go on wikipedia, and look up polarized light, photography, etc. You could write me at: alphanathan@netzero.net, if you have questions

you are quite welcome. the problem is that you have to learn some photography, and that is some studying. there is no shortcut. a lot of photographers don't know this stuff, and finally i stumbled onto it on line. it is better to use polarizers, rather than fix this digitally, even though polarizing filters sound so 'old school'. they are still relevant, and will be, for some time. if you can build a bike, you should be able to do this. p.s., write me to tell how it works. just remember me, and pass it on.

Thanks. It is a mixture of yellow, violet, orange and white sprayed as a midtone then the same colors are mixed in different ratios to go lighter and darker.

I'm impressed! Airbrush on metal? That's different... and very good. Look's like Alex Ross.
Anyway, he's the greatest and if you try to paint like him, you're doing the right thing. I'm trying too.
